Cowal: Getting there/around
With rugged glens, pretty coastal villages and dramatic sea lochs, Cowal is the gateway to some of Scotland's most scenic drives.
Although Dunoon itself is worth a visit in its own right, Cowal is an ideal starting point for any trip through Argyll or Loch Lomond, Stirling and the Trossachs National Park.
Survey the ‘Avenue of the Giant Redwoods’ at the Benmore Botanic Garden or time your visit for August and you’ll be able to experience the Cowal Highland Gathering. ’ The Argyll Forest Park is also an ideal destination for walkers and mountain bikers; there’s off road forest trails to suit all abilities.
