Harris: Getting there/around
Harris conjures up images of colourful wildflowers, sandy beaches and turquoise seas.
With its contrasting rugged ‘lunar’ landscape and stunning white beaches, Harris is spectacular to the eye. The rare coastal machair environment provides a home to a wide variety of rare species and the grasslands are covered by a jewel-like carpet of wildflowers.
However, it’s not just about the beaches. Harris is fast becoming a must visit destination for mountain bikers and with miles and miles of old crofter’s trails. Excellent fishing and walking are also on offer.
