Unspoilt and full of hidden gems. The Kintyre Peninsula is also famous for whisky and great golf.
Also known as “Scotland’s only mainland island” and immortalised in the song “Mull of Kintyre” the Kintyre Peninsula is approximately 40 miles long and is the gateway to the Southern Hebridean islands of Arran, Gigha, Islay and Jura.
Kintyre has great walks and lush countryside, beautiful sandy beaches and 5 golf courses. It is also a haven for wildlife with seal colonies, deer and majestic birds of prey to be admired.
Investigate the culture and history of the area at the Campbeltown Heritage Centre and ancient castles.

Enjoy a superb golfing experience at the first class natural links course at Machrihanish.
Walk the “Kintyre Way” from Tarbert to Southend over 89 miles. (Can be completed in 4-7 days depending on ability).
Whisky lovers should try a visit to the Springbank Whisky Distillery.
Get your toes tapping at the Mull of Kintyre Music Festival in Campbeltown in August.
