What travel documentation do I need?

You require valid travel tickets, your booking reference number (confirmation details) and a boarding card (where applicable). Please see boarding information for further details.

 
What is the latest check-in time?

Latest check-in times for passengers and vehicles are detailed in our timetables. It is essential that all customers check-in on time.

 

Do you offer a discount for disabled passengers?

A discount is available for road tax exempt vehicles. Assistance is also available at ports and on-board.

 

Can I bring my dog?

Dogs are welcome on-board all Caledonian MacBrayne ships and are carried free of charge. Please see accompanied dogs for further details.

 

 Does Caledonian MacBrayne have a no smoking policy?

Caledonian MacBrayne operates a no smoking policy in line with current legislation. Smoking is not permitted on the car deck.

 

What if I lose or forget my tickets?

Valid travel tickets are required for your journey. Please see lost tickets for further information. Customers are asked to consider and purchase travel insurance.

 

How can I cancel or amend my booking?

Bookings can be cancelled or amended by contacting our reservations department on 08000 66 5000. Please also see our refund policy for further information.

 

Children’s fares are not detailed in the timetable. Are children charged the same fares as adults?

Different fares apply depending on the age of the child. For further information please see children.

 

Are reservations really necessary?

Reservations can be made by contacting us on 08000 66 5000. It is not essential that you make a reservation for all bookable sailings, however we do recommend that you book in advance to avoid disappointment. Please refer to timetables for journey times.

 

Do foot passengers need to make reservations?

Foot passengers don’t need to make reservations in advance, however some of our sailings can be very busy, especially at peak times of year, so it is advisable to arrive in plenty of time before the sailing to avoid disappointment. Please also see latest passenger check-in times.

 

What happens on a non-bookable route if I don’t get onto the last ferry?

Some of our sailings can be very busy, especially at peak times of year, so it is advisable to arrive in plenty of time before the last sailing to avoid disappointment. 

 

Can I have a meal on the ferry?

 

Onboard facilities vary on each of our vessels depending on the size of the ship and the duration of the journey. Some of our larger vessels have cafeterias, coffee bars and bars, where a varied range of food and drinks are available.

 

Can you book accommodation for me?

 

We are unable to book accommodation for you, however some accommodation details are provided should you wish to contact them.
