Annual overhaul delay

Technical issues with the MV Hebridean Isles uncovered during its annual dry dock maintenance period have delayed it's return to service.

Robert Morrison, CalMac's Director of Operations said:

'We realise that there is a lot of people on Islay and elsewhere eagerly awaiting the return of the MV Hebridean Isles from annual dry dock.

'The vessel is still experiencing some technical issues that were uncovered during the maintenance period. Unfortunately, dry docking is not an exact science and unforeseen issues that need addressed can be uncovered once work begins. 

'We apologise for this delay in return to service and are working round the clock to get the vessel back into normal service again as quickly as possible.'  

CalMac will keep passengers updated on progress.
