Scotland's tallest lighthouse on our most dangerous reef
The story of the Skerryvore Lighthouse, built 10 nautical miles off the coast of Tiree is one of heroism and engineering prowess. The Skerryvore Lighthouse Museum on the island tells the story of how Scotland's tallest lighthouse was built on one of her most dangerous rocks, to protect ships from her most treacherous reef. It was an incredible feat - largely led by Alan Stevenson, uncle of Robert Louis Stevenson.
