Mallaig Primary School Parent Council

Mallaig Primary School Parent Council supports the pupils and staff in the Nursery and Primary School. It is made up of members from both the Gaelic Medium and English classes and Nurseries in the school.

Areas that have been highlighted by children are their opportunities to engage in different outdoor activities, opportunities for them to achieve in different skills and celebrate these achievements, opportunities to show that they be responsible for themselves and others in different situations and also to be included in activities that others have more readily available. Through support from the CalMac Community Fund, young people in Mallaig have an opportunity to engage in a Winter Activity Residential.

It is hoped that it will help to support the young people to be resilient, confidence and interested to try new activities and look beyond their local area and the opportunities that are available within the local context. It is also hoped that sharing the experiences will encourage younger pupils to look beyond the activities her and have the confidence to try out new things.
