ROLE OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Port Manager, you will need a flexible approach to your day-to-day responsibilities including working shifts and weekends when required. You must be customer focused, have a clear understanding of the customer interface and have a proactive approach to customer care.

 

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES/KEY TASKS

·       Ensure vehicle marshalling activities are carried out in a safe manner.

·       Ensure safety and control of passengers embarking and disembarking from vessels.

·       Responsible for the Sale of and collection of tickets from all passengers and vehicles ensuring tickets are valid for the journey.

·       Undertake cleaning of office, waiting rooms, toilets and terminal areas to the standards laid down.

·       Maintain exterior and interior buildings, property and equipment in accordance with the Company's requirements.

·       Undertake handling of vessel and other stores as required.

·       Ensure defects reported timeously to Supervisor.

·       Be fully involved with Drills and compliant with the Company's Safety Culture

 

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Essential Criteria

·       The successful candidate must be able to commute to Uig Ferry Terminal on a daily basis

·       You are expected to have a flexible approach to working, as shift and weekend work will be involved

·       Ability to work with initiative as a self-starter, without supervision

·       Willingness to be a team player in a dynamic, proactive and at times a fast-paced environment

·       Good understanding of the CalMac services

  • Able to liaise with other port staff & crews to ensuring a high level of proactive communication and coordination of activities

 

Desirable Criteria

  • Driving Licence and when required a willingness to work at other Company Locations

·       Competent in the use of computer and scanning devices.

·       Accurate input and checking of data.

·       All duties (including Rope Handling) connected with vessel movements.
