Monday at the Mòd
The CalMac Bus 11:00 - 12:00
This year's Royal National Mòd is being hosted in Inverness, also known as the capital of the highlands. Today the focus has been on the children's competitions, with an array of singing, including Solo, Puirt-a-Beul, Choral, as well as Drama and Poetry. The majority of the competitions have been in and around the famous Eden Court Theatre, which has had an almost electric buzz about it since the Mòd began on Friday!
The CalMac bus was in situ outside Eden Court this morning where we took the opportunity to speak to some of the competitors of the day... Watch our video below to see what they had to say about their #modjourney so far.
Susan Paterson Caledonian MacBrayne Trophy 15:00 - 15:30
We are delighted to present the Susan Paterson CalMac Trophy to Port Ellen Primary School from Islay who took part in the Choral Singing category in La Scala Cinema at Eden Court. I'm sure you will agree that they sang wonderfully and that their #ModJourney from Islay to Inverness has been a success so far. Well Done Everyone!
CalMac Welcome Reception 18:00 - 19:30
We were honoured to have been joined by our guests from the Gaelic community at our CalMac Reception this evening. Tonight's theme was Our People, with other themes being covered in each of our 3 remaining Receptions this week.
We took the opportunity to speak to some of our guests and find out a little bit more about their connection to CalMac through the years. Here's a taste of what they had to say.
