Customer Update - 1 April 2021
From 2 April, the Scottish Government 'Stay at Home' rule will be replaced by 'Stay Local'.
Restrictions on non-essential travel across local authority boundaries remain in place. This means that travelling for non-essential reasons can only be done within your own local authority area. The rules around travelling for essential purposes remain unchanged. Full guidance is available via gov.scot or use the Scottish Government postcode checker to find out what applies to you.
As Scotland continues to move through plans for the careful easing of lockdown, we will work closely with Transport Scotland and the Scottish Government while they continue to engage with communities to balance the unique position of the islands with the lessening of restrictions.
Our capacity remains much less than in 'normal times'. Strict official physical distancing and additional cleaning protocols remain in place. The number of passengers we can carry, and the frequency of our sailings are less than they normally would be at this time of year.
We will keep our customers informed throughout via our website and social channels. You can stay up to date with us by checking and following our @calmac_updates Twitter page, and we will continue to share the latest travel guidance available via our regularly updated website FAQs.
