Customer Update 26 June 2020 - Timetables and Bookings
Earlier this week, our Managing Director, Robbie Drummond shared an update about the introduction on the next phase of our timetable, along with details on how we are managing COVID19 regulations and restrictions.
We are pleased to now publish the next phase of our timetable. This will be in operation from 1 July 2020 until 14 July 2020. Bookings will be available for this timetable from 30 June 2020 at 9am.
The following phase of our timetable will run from 15 July until 18 October, coinciding with the timings of the Scottish Government's route map, which guides the gradual lifting of lockdown restrictions. We will publish this on 2 July 2020, and bookings will open on a rolling two-week window from that date.
This ensures we can carry the optimal number of passengers, while implementing Scottish Government guidelines - including social distancing.
From 9am on 30 June bookings will open for 1 July - 14 July.
At 9am on 2 July when the next phase of our timetable is published (for period 15 July - 18 October), bookings will be open up to 15 July.
At 9am on 3 July, bookings will be open up to 16 July, and so on.
Today's updated timetable, and the following phase (15 July - 18 October) include more frequent sailings and will increase available capacity for customers right across the network. We are implementing guidelines and safety measures - including social distancing. They're designed to keep customers and crew safe and they dictate the number of passengers we can carry. Our capacity per vessel is limited because of these safety measures. Should they change, our capacity per vessel will also change.
Reintroduction of sailings
The timetables published today include the reintroduction of the following sailings:
· Claonaig to Lochranza - from 15 July.
· Tarbert to Portavadie - from 1 July. This will include a sailing to Lochranza up to 14 July.
· Mallaig to Armadale - from 1 July.
Our timetable from 15 July will also include the return of a full two-vessel service to Islay, a second vessel on Mull's Oban to Craignure route and a second vessel on Arran's Ardrossan-Brodick route.
This year has been very different to the one many of us might have imagined and the situation for travel continues to be changeable as we prepare for the easing of lockdown restrictions.
For those passengers who already have a reservation with us, we are also dealing with those on a rolling two-week basis. We will only make cancellations where we have to, based on capacity. If you have a booking between 1-14 July, which will be affected by capacity constraints, our team is in the process of contacting you.
If your booking is from 15 July onwards, we don't yet have an update for you. But we will be in touch with you in line with our two-week rolling sequence.
To help us manage demand effectively, we strongly advise all foot passengers on our bookable routes make a reservation prior to travel.
Turn up and go routes
One of our 'turn up and go' routes - Mallaig to Small Isles will change to a bookable service. All passengers using that service including foot passengers are advised to book in advance. All other 'turn up and go' routes will remain non-bookable.
We will make provision to accommodate passengers who have been unable to make a booking - but it will be limited.
COVID-19 has changed many aspects of day to day life - including how you sail with us. When planning travel, please remember to:·
think of your safety and the safety of others by understanding the latest safety guidelines, including the use of face coverings on public transport.
be responsible when considering travel - your decision to travel could impact someone else's essential journey - for example key workers and those travelling for medical reasons.
plan ahead and be prepared.
When travelling on our bookable routes, we strongly advise you always book ahead.
When travelling on a 'turn up and go' route, capacity is limited, and your first choice of sailing may not be always be available.
