Customer Update - Delay to MV Caledonian Isles annual overhaul
*This information has now been updated - please read our latest for the latest details on delays to the overhaul schedule.
MV Caledonian Isles, which usually operates the Arran-Ardrossan route is currently undergoing annual overhaul works. Routine inspections have revealed steel work and important engine work that needs to be carried out before the vessel returns to service. This means her time off service will be extended beyond 3 February, while additional parts and service engineers are sourced, and further repairs and inspections are completed. Our staff are working hard at the moment to provide a more precise return to service date, however the current estimate we have been given for the return of the vessel is three to five weeks. We'll update our customers with further information on the return date once it becomes available. You can stay updated via the service status pages of our website, and our @CalMac_Updates Twitter channel.
Our initial deployment plans to cover this situation will be in operation until 16 February* and will be updated for the period beyond that date as soon as possible.
The Arran-Brodick service is currently being covered by MV Isle of Arran, supported by MV Hebridean Isles operating freight service Troon-Brodick.
Overhaul is an essential part of our maintenance schedule, required to maintain statutory certification and to reduce risk of technical problems emerging in service. Thank you for patience during this period.
