Customer Update: Mallaig - Armadale Timetable Changes

MV Coruisk moving to Mallaig - Armadale route FAQs

With the arrival of MV Coruisk, the Mallaig-Armadale route will transition to a new timetable to accommodate the vessel's different turnaround and rest periods. The new timetable will be in place from 18 July, and work is underway on our booking system to transition to the new timetable. We have set out details below to guide customers who have an existing booking or who may be planning to book a sailing on this route. We have also published the new timetable to help customers plan.

Why will an amended timetable be in place on Mallaig - Armadale route following the arrival of MV Coruisk?

MV Coruisk has different berthing and hours of rest requirements to MV Loch Bhrusda which is currently operating, and so the existing timetable has to be amended.

If you have an existing booking on this route, should we need to, we'll contact you at least a week in advance of sailing to arrange a suitable alternative sailing, or to let you know of a change to sailing times.

If you are planning to book, work is underway to transition from the existing timetable to the new, and sailing times on our online booking system may reflect the previous timetable whilst this work is carried out. We have published both timetables to help you plan. When making your booking online or via our Customer Engagement Centre, please select the closest sailing time to the new timetable if this has not yet been updated in our systems.

Should we need to, we will contact you at least a week in advance of the sailing to move your booking to the nearest alternative sailing on the new timetable. If you have any other questions in the meantime, please contact our Customer Engagement Centre on 0800 066 5000.

Will the changes to timetable still meet connecting public transport?

Unfortunately, due to berthing arrangements, customers arriving by train to Mallaig at 17:43 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays will be unable to connect with this service. This is the only change to meeting connecting public transport services.

Why does MV Coruisk need to move to Mallaig- Armadale at a weekend?

This familiarisation must take place at the weekend, as midweek there are not sufficient gaps in the timetabling to allow berthing and approach trials.

Will the journey time be changing on this route when travelling on MV Coruisk sailings?

Yes, this will be a shorter crossing of 30 minutes compared to the previous published timetable which was 45 minutes for MV Loch Bhrusda sailings.

Can I make an online booking for Mallaig - Armadale?
