Discover the Isle of Tiree: 'Hawaii of the north’

The Isle of Tiree, located in the Inner Hebrides is one of Scotland’s best kept secret destinations. Known for its white sandy beaches, it’s often referred to as the ‘Hawaii of the north’ and is the perfect island for watersports lovers, but also for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and connect with nature.

Outdoor Adventures

Tiree is known for its stunning white sandy beaches, which are perfect for swimming, surfing and paddleboarding to name a few. Surf season lasts all year round in Tiree and the beaches are home to some fantastic waves throughout the summer. The wind on the island also makes it the perfect destination for wind and kite surfers, and with 23 pristine beaches to choose from, it’s a watersport lovers paradise! Watersports equipment can be hired from Blackhouse Watersports or Wild Diamond Watersports. 

If you’d prefer to explore the island on land, cycling is a fun and active way to discover all the island has to offer. With little elevation, it’s a great way to get around for all the family. Bikes and eBikes can be hired on the island. 

 

Nature and Wildlife

The Isle of Tiree is home to a variety of wildlife, including seals, dolphins, and a wide range of birds. Tiree Sea Tours is a great way to catch a glimpse of the amazing wildlife from the pristine waters surrounding the island. They offer a range of tours which can be booked on their website.

The white beaches and sparkling waters will make you feel like you’re in the Caribbean, but without the crowds – the island is quiet and secluded, making it the ideal haven to switch off.

Tiree is a special place with a unique culture and history. The island is home to a number of talented musicians and artists. There are also a number of festivals and events held throughout the year, including the popular Tiree Music Festival (TMF).

Getting there
