Special – Coorie in this winter

In this special, festive edition of Scottish Island Adventures, host Coinneach MacLeod - The Hebridean Baker - takes us on a magical winter journey across the Isle of Arran, uncovering what makes the Scottish islands so magical when the summer season ends and the temperature drops.

We start off our hygge journey at Stonesthrow Sauna - a mobile sauna on the beach where you can relax and enjoy views over the Holy Isle. Afterwards, Coinneach cools down with a cold-water plunge in the shores of Arran.

We hear from local crocheter, Lou from Gleann Co. - a one-woman business who uses inspiration from her surroundings in Arran to design her beautiful, cosy products.

Coinneach stops for lunch at Cafe Thyme, a legendary local eatery with a Turkish flair. We hear from owners Hamza and Lorna and Coinneach tucks in to a haggis and cheese pide.

Finally, Coinneach enjoys a wee dram with Graham from Lagg - Arran’s contemporary style distillery who produce a heavily peated, modern, and characterful single malt whisky.

Back in the studio, Coinneach and Nati chat all things cosy, from starry skies to island traditions.

It’s time to put your feet up, grab a cuppa, and coorie in for this winter warming episode.
