Can I use the CalMac app on my device, and what can I do if it’s not compatible?

Our new CalMac app requires a more recent operating system to function properly. This guarantees optimal performance and security. Specifically, you need Android 10 or later or iOS 13 or later.

What if you find your device is not compatible?

While we recommend upgrading your device to the latest operating system, you can still easily access the CalMac Service Status:

Via web browser:

  1. Open your device's web browser (e.g., Chrome, Safari, Firefox).
  2. Navigate to our website: https://www.calmac.co.uk/service-status
  3. You can access live service updates directly through the website.

Add our website to your home screen:

For iOS devices (iPhone, iPad):
  1. Open Safari and navigate to https://www.calmac.co.uk/service-status.
  2. Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up).
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Customise the name and icon for the shortcut, then tap Add.
For Android devices:
  1. Open Chrome and navigate to https://www.calmac.co.uk/service-status.
  2. Tap the Menu button (three dots in the top right corner).
  3. Tap Add to Home screen.
  4. Customise the name and icon for the shortcut, then tap Add.
