Do I need a ticket for my pet?
Yes. Although all pets travel for free, they will all need a ticket, regardless of how they travel with us.
If you are planning a trip with your pet, add your pet(s) to your reservation when you book / advance purchase your own ticket(s). Choose between the following pet ticket options:
Pet on board - select this ticket type if you wish to bring your pet onto the vessel and use our designated indoor pet areas. There will be a cap on numbers as we need to manage the space available for everyone's comfort, especially that of your pet. If this option shows as sold out, please do consider the option of leaving your pet in your vehicle.
Pet in vehicle - select this ticket type if you wish to leave your pet in your vehicle. Your pet will still be ticketed as we need to know they are on board. There's no limit on these pet ticket numbers since your pet will not using the public areas of the vessel. Please note, you won't be able to return to the car deck during the crossing.
Assistance dogs - select this ticket type if you are travelling with an assistance dog. Your pet will still be ticketed as we need to know they are on board. There's no limit on these pet ticket numbers.
Some advice on the booking process:
When selecting pet tickets online, you select the pet requirements before you search for sailings, so if you select Pet in Pax Lounge and there is insufficient capacity for this, it will show as SOLD OUT when you reach the sailings selection. When this occurs consider swapping your choice from Pet in Pax Lounge to Pet Remain in Car.
