Campbeltown port

The capital of Kintyre, Campbeltown is a bustling town with many local attractions including several whisky distilleries and locations of historical note. An ideal base for taking in the rest of the beautiful Kintyre peninsula. There are currently two options to get to Kintyre by ferry: from Portavadie on the Cowal & Dunoon peninsula and from Lochranza on Arran.

Key information

Due to vessel availability, the summer 2025 service between Campbeltown and Ardrossan will not operate. Read more. There are however two other options to get to Kintyre by ferry, an alternative option to the full road route: from Portavadie on the Cowal & Dunoon peninsula and from Lochranza on Arran.

  • Please arrive 30-45 minutes before departure
  • The check-in booth is situated on the left-hand side after the car park entrance.
  • If you arrive earlier than the stated check in time please do not join the boarding lanes.
  • If the check-in booth is not manned please follow signs - terminal staff will check you in.
  • If you miss your booked sailing, or the size of your vehicle differs from that declared, you may have to pay an additional fee.
  • We reserve the right to amend your booking appropriately on arrival.
