Extra Islay sailings

Due to a continuing electrical fault on the MV Finlaggan's mezzanine deck impacting vehicle capacity, extra sailings are being laid on this weekend (Saturday May 28).

"We are conscious of the high levels of traffic leaving the island this weekend and have therefore decided to run additional sailings on Saturday and Sunday. This will mean a delayed sailing time to Colonsay from Islay which we apologise for," said CalMac's area operations manager, Simon Richmond.

Additional sailing times are now available on the website. Alternative arrangements are being made for any passengers affected by this.

"I can assure passengers and the community on Islay that we are doing everything we can to resolve this. We have been working strenuously to rectify the fault with the manufacturer and hope to have a permanent solution in the near future," he added.
