Why are you not offering a non-landing cruise ticket for Mallaig to the Small Isles?

Non-landing tickets to the Small Isles have not been available for a number of years, following consultation with local communities and Transport Scotland.

This means that it's no longer possible to travel around the Small Isles from Mallaig as a 'cruise'.

This decision was reached to help protect a lifeline service for the community we serve. Previously, a situation existed where islanders were unable to travel home or to the mainland for important reasons - including medical appointments - due to the volume of non-landing ticket holders on board.

Customers can still book travel from Mallaig to the Small Isles, for disembarkation at Eigg, Muck, Rum or Canna. For full details on travel to the Small Isles, please visit our timetable pages. If you are planning to travel on a day trip to the islands, our timetable will guide you on what is possible - due to the nature of the service, the timetable changes every day, and you'll need to factor this into your choice and plans as it may not always be possible to travel to and from your chosen island in one day.
