MV Alfred
About
MV Alfred is a catamaran ferry owned by Pentland Ferries, currently chartered to Caledonian MacBrayne for nine months. The MV Alfred was built in Vietnam by Strategic Marine Vietnam. In 2020, Pentland Ferries became the first ferry operator in the UK to win a Green Tourism Award for the Alfred.
On Board Facilities
Toilets | There are toilets on each side of the passenger areas on the main deck (one up from car deck). One unisex toilet is available on the Upper Sun Lounge Deck. |
Accessible toilets | One accessible toilet is located on the main deck. |
Baby changing facilities | Located in the accessible toilet on the main deck. |
Lift | Please note - *The passenger lift from the car deck is currently unavailable due to a technical issue, although a stair climber is available. There is a lift from vehicle deck to main deck (there is no disabled access to sun deck but we are able to provide a back-up motorised stair climber)* |
Wi-Fi | As this service is operated by Pentland Ferries there is no Wi-Fi available. |
Food / Drink | There is no retail offering on board. |
Baggage Area | There is a baggage area on the car deck under the rear stairs that is covered to protect any baggage from the weather. |
Passenger Seating Areas | Spacious seating areas, outdoor seating, and an indoor dog-friendly sundeck lounge. |
Pet Area | Pets must remain in the sun deck lounge or on the outside decks, and not permitted in the passenger lounge. Assistance dogs can be in any indoor areas. |
