Service status & info

Ardrossan (ARD) - Brodick (BRO)

One or more sailings are disrupted

Service updates

Friday 20th May – Friday 27th May

Arran services continue to operate and the island very much remains open and welcoming to visitors but due to disruptions elsewhere in the network, it has been necessary to amend the timetables to a single vessel service in order to protect lifeline services across the system. We estimate the change to timetable will affect service for approximately seven days but we are very hopeful of reducing that and will further update on service status by 17:00 on Tuesday 24th May.

Our fleet is fully deployed, and other services are impacted by vessel availability, we are unable to investigate options to deploy MV Pentalina as this vessel is currently unable to operate in commercial service due to certification issues.

The Claonaig - Lochranza service has been enhanced with a second vessel for increased capacity. There are further tidal cancellations extending over the weekend which can be found here

If you are new to this route, please read our information page to help you prepare and plan ahead.

If your journey is re-routed as a result of the disruption between Ardrossan - Brodick and you incur additional mileage costs, we will reimburse mileage in line with Passenger Rights. Please see here for more details.

You can apply for a refund here or a passenger rights claim form here.

The following timetable will operate on these dates:

Sunday 22nd May
Depart Ardrossan – 09:45, 12:30, 15:20 & 18:00
Depart Brodick – 11:05, 13:55, 16:40 & 19:20

Monday 23rd – Thursday 26th May

Depart Ardrossan – 07:00, 09:45, 12:30, 15:20, 18:00
Depart Brodick – 08:20, 11:05, 13:55, 16:40, 19:20

Friday 27th May
Depart Ardrossan – 07:00, 09:45, 12:30, 15:20, 18:00 & 20:30
Depart Brodick – 08:20, 11:05, 13:55, 16:40, 19:20 & 21:40

All other sailings on these dates are cancelled.

All customers with bookings on cancelled sailings will be contacted and alternative options for travel investigated case by case and in all cases of diversion passenger rights will be available.

This would mean that for any customers where the diversion to Arran via Kintyre would be an option will be able to claim for mileage expenses under the passenger rights policy.

Supplementary information

Outdoor Seating

Most of the outdoor seating is being replaced on the MV Caledonian Isles. This means there are less seats available for those customers who wish to sit outdoors during their journey. We apologise to those of you who are affected. Work is underway – however, it has taken longer than we would have liked due to the supply chain issues being experienced by our supplier. We hope to have some of the seating space back to normal as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.
