Service updates

Uig Harbour Closure
30th October – 15th December

During this period, the Highland Council will undertake a second round of work to upgrade Uig Harbour. A direct service will not operate between Uig and Lochmaddy. Instead, our service continuity plan includes an amended timetable between Lochmaddy and Ullapool during 30 October – 15 December 2023. Timetable details can be found here.

Shuttle bus transport

Shuttle buses will be available to transport passengers between Uig – Ullapool as well as Tarbert – Stornoway. View full details of timings and their routes as well as details on how to book can be found here.

 Until Further Notice

Due to Heating & Water Systems getting renewed at Lochmaddy Terminal. Public Toilets are unavailable until further notice. Disabled/Babychanging room is available for use.

Check-in information at Ullapool
We're expecting more traffic than usual at Ullapool ferry terminal between 30 October 2023 - 15 December 2023. If you're a vehicle passenger travelling on the 11.00am (Monday - Saturday) departure for Lochmaddy, please check in after 09:30 a.m. on the day of sailing to allow for the flow of traffic for earlier sailings.
If you arrive earlier than 09:30 a.m. you won't be able to access car lanes. Check-in is 45 minutes prior to departure for vehicles and 30 minutes for foot passengers - otherwise space will be reallocated. Late check-in may also lead to the vehicle being refused carriage.

Due to road re-surfacing works on the A865 there may be some traffic delays. Please allow extra time for your journey to ensure arrival for check in.

Turn Up and Go and Bookable route online purchases. If you have purchased tickets online as a group or for any number of travel companions, for use on any of our Turn Up and Go or Bookable routes, the full party must travel on the same sailing. This applies to both legs of your journey. If you are unsure if all members of your group are travelling together, please complete separate transactions online.

Connecting Services - For customers using connecting services please note these services do not always guarantee a connection, particularly during times of disruption. We advise that you check both CalMac and connecting service websites prior to travel to ensure you can reach your end destination safely.
