Can I use the freight service to carry dangerous goods if I am unable to carry dangerous goods on the ferry with me?

The freight service can transport dangerous goods, and these can be notified to the freight team using the Freight Form these must also be booked in advance with the Mallaig port office at least 24 hours prior to shipment.  

To notify the Mallaig port office of any dangerous goods please call  01687 310240 (Option 2) during port opening hours.  

The  dangerous goods declaration can be downloaded from the government website.

Any dangerous goods for the Small Isles must be carried in accordance with Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) regulations. A dangerous goods declaration note must be completed 24 hours advance of shipment and shared with the Mallaig port office.  

Please ensure that all declarations have the required information included and as much information as possible. Any forms which are not correct will be sent back and dangerous goods held at Mallaig Port Office where possible until another form is provided.
