Bird of Prey Trail

Follow the Bird of Prey Trail

The Outer Hebrides  Bird of Prey Trail is a self-guided journey through the islands, linking the best places in Scotland to watch predators in their own natural habitat. This area is a stronghold for several of Scotland's most iconic bird of prey species. The remote moorlands and vast open vistas have been a perfect area for these breeds to thrive - since they are mostly free from human disturbance. So, this area offers you the best chance to spot up to ten species, living along the trail - including the relatively rare white tailed eagle, the golden eagle, hen harrier, short eared owl and more. The trail links 13 viewing locations along the 130-mile long archipelago of the Outer Hebrides.
