Cathedral of the Isles

Visit Britain's smallest cathedral on Cumbrae

The  Cathedral of the Isles in Millport, on the Isle of Cumbrae is said to be Britain's smallest cathedral. Designed by renowned architect, William Butterfield, it is small, compact and beautiful. Open daily for worship and quiet contemplation, the cathedral also hosts regular concerts, particularly through the summer months, with performers and audiences travelling far and wide to take part, such is the quality of musicianship. The adjoining buildings also offer accommodation to individuals and groups. Cumbrae itself is just a 10-minute ferry journey from Largs, on the Ayrshire coast, so this tranquil spot is quick and easy to get to from the mainland.

Visit our Cumbrae destination page for more information on how to get there.
