Travel back to medieval times at Kisimul Castle, Isle of Barra
You can't miss Kisimul Castle - you'll see it as you arrive on the ferry to Barra - the seat of the Clan MacNeil. Set upon a rock in the middle of the bay, it's the only surviving medieval castle in the Outer Hebrides. You can take a 5-minute boat journey to the castle from the village of Castlebay. Once there, climb the three-storey tower for some spectacular views of the island.
