Changes to CalMac service this week

CalMac passengers are being made aware that temporary changes will be made to the ferry service next week to allow for MV Hebrides to be repaired.

The vessel serves the Uig-Lochmaddy-Tarbert routes and will be taken to dry dock for repairs to her stern seals on Tuesday morning. It is expected that she will be out of service for around a week.

MV Clansman will operate on this route until MV Hebrides is back in service.

To allow for this service to remain in place, there will be a reduced number of sailings between Mallaig and Armadale from Monday, while sailings to and from Lochboisdale will be cancelled until MV Hebrides is back in service.

MV Lord of the Isles will be moved to routes operating out of Oban.

Finlay MacRae, Head of Operations, said: "Unfortunately, MV Hebrides has to be taken out of service for urgent repairs. Our priority during this time is to ensure that services continue to operate, but this does mean that some services will be cancelled, and some vessels will be redeployed onto other routes. This will have an impact on several sailings. We are very conscious that services are very busy and are working with affected customers to address their travel requirements.

"We apologise for any inconvenience that these changes will create for our customers, and greatly appreciate the patience and understanding of service users in this most recent disruption."
