CalMac Ferries Marine Awareness Programme

The CalMac Ferries Marine Awareness Programme is a CalMac Ferries initiative to raise awareness of the marine environment in the West of Scotland. 

The objectives of the Programme are:

• To use CalMac Ferries Limited vessels to undertake marine biodiversity monitoring with Citizen Science volunteers using a standardised methodology

• To undertake on board passenger engagement to raise marine environment awareness of both visitors and locals across the West of Scotland

• To bring together existing non-governmental organisations working in marine awareness and monitoring across the West of Scotland to facilitate information sharing

• To identify opportunities to engage with the communities of the West of Scotland to raise awareness of marine conservation issues.
