What is CalMac doing in response to the current COVID-19 situation?

CalMac has a full COVID-19 response team in place. We have been working to ensure our customers and staff are already responding to the latest Government instructions surrounding the current outbreak.

We work closely and frequently with Transport Scotland, the Scottish Government's Resilience Team and Health Protection Scotland to stay on top of the latest advice and guidance from Government and the country's health officials. 

A coordinated approach is vital to help keep both our customers and our staff safe and supported. 

We all need to play a role in the response to Covid-19. We are asking our customers to ensure they play their part by ensuring they are aware of all the latest Government advice - including hand hygiene, physical distancing and the use of face coverings.

Customers must not travel if they display any of the symptoms of coronavirus, i.e.:

  • A new persistent cough;

  • A high temperature;

  • A loss or change to your sense of smell and/or taste.

Similarly, customers must not travel if they are self-isolating as a result of coronavirus symptoms or sharing a household with somebody with symptoms.
