Debit card changes After monitoring fare payment on certain routes ferry operator CalMac is withdrawing the ability to pay with certain debit cards.
This is a precautionary measure to avoid any potential fraud.
Passengers will still be able to use all debit cards in ticketing offices.

"We constantly check our payment of fares and have uncovered an issue with certain cards. We are taking measures to address this but in the meantime we will not be able to accept a small minority of debit cards on certain routes. Please make sure you have an alternative means of paying if you use one of these cards and are planning on paying on board or at port with no other ticketing facilities.
"This will be resolved as we introduce wireless broadband connection in all ports in the very near future. In the meantime we are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause," said Commercial Director, Cathy Craig.
