CalMac warns of possible severe weather disruptions
Ferry operator Caledonian MacBrayne (CalMac) is warning ferry travellers that forecasters are predicting strong winds to affect many parts of its network at the end of the week and over the weekend, bringing the possibility of major disruptions to ferry services at times.
CalMac is advising ferry travellers to check the website: www.calmac.co.uk for the latest information. The passenger service between Gourock and Dunoon operated by CalMac's sister company, Argyll Ferries, may also be affected. The latest information on that service can be found at www.argyllferries.co.uk. A CalMac spokesman said: "Ferry travellers are advised to check weather forecasts and, if possible, be prepared to be flexible with their travel arrangements in the event that services are disrupted. We regret any inconvenience caused but trust everyone will recognise that the safety of passengers, crew and ships must be our priority."
