MV Hebrides out of service

The MV Hebrides is likely to be out of service for two days from July 28 due to a propulsion issue meaning the cancellation of all CalMac services out of Lochmaddy.

Vehicles are being diverted to the Tarbert Uig crossing which is being operated by the MV Isle of Lewis in the meantime.

Two extra sailings on the Leverburgh Berneray route are being laid on tomorrow to cope with extra traffic travelling from North Uist to Harris to meet the Tarbert crossings.

Foot passengers are also being urged to consider using the Lochboisdale sailing to get to the mainland.

"We are working flat out to try and get the MV Hebrides back into service as quickly as possible and apologise for any inconvenience this technical issue may cause," said CalMac's operations director, Drew Collier.
