CalMac Ferries have been involved with the ORCA OceanWatch project, which features the OceanWatch week, since 2015. This project involves all who live and work at sea, giving them the chance to play a significant role in whale and dolphin conservation.
ORCA have worked with our bridge crews, giving them the skills to conduct a scientific survey whilst out on the water. They have become citizen scientists and help ORCA collect the vital data they need to help protect these animals.
In 2019, a whopping 24 species were seen; of which there were 2,201 animals during OceanWatch week. Click here to find out more about OceanWatch.
